Pirates Never Die

Do I need to get rid of this?

We have had three mini pumpkins out on our porch for the longest time. Since Halloween, actually. They were doing just fine until recently, when a particular Pirate Pumpkin started to rot. Procrastination prevented me from getting rid of it, but I have to say that this thing is growing on me. The biologist in me says that it would be interesting to see how decomposition progresses. The benefits of seeing solicitors run away in disgust aren’t too bad, also.

This daring Cucurbita Corsair has lost its mustache and is about to fall off the ledge.

Long live the pirate!

Yeesh. Glad to know I’m not the only one who lets the pumpkins go!
