About Me

I picked up my first SLR camera shortly after my first baby was born, because I wanted her pictures to be as special as she. Nine years and three babies later, I still have not put my camera down. You could say that my photography hobby has been my fourth child. I am a mom, and I take pictures. I am a MWAC—a Mom with a Camera. The term MWAC is often used with disapproval but I choose to embrace it.

I was educated to be an ecologist. I left that field to stay home with my kids when they were born. As my kids have grown up somewhat, I have been faced with the idea going back to work. Rather than go back to a job in ecology, I decided to pay attention to my fourth child tugging quietly but insistently at my sleeve.

So, here I am, with a photography business website before me. What was a hobby is now a profession. What was a quiet tug is now a loud, hollering wail—a sweet one, though, and one that cannot be ignored.
